IF YOU’VE BEEN a lucky diner at the renowned restaurants Noma or Per Se, then you’ve quite possibly encountered the culinary artistry of Joe Cash. The Upstate native had an illustrious run in international and NYC restaurants before relocating his family to Greenville during the pandemic. Now, luckily for us, Cash has since opened Scoundrel, a gem in the heart of downtown, bringing big-city vibes to our neck of the woods.
We asked Cash to kick off THE WEEKENDER, a new series where we interview Southeastern creatives and personalities making their mark on an international stage.
OPEN DIALOGUE :: What’s on your mind?
JOE CASH: Dad life! We just had our second child, Romee, about a month ago, and what a ride it’s been already. Although the sleepless nights are nobody’s friend, I’m so looking forward to watching her grow up. Our first born is two and a half, and watching him develop into himself has been one of the best things I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Never a dull moment and so many incredible memories, I feel pretty lucky to get to do it all over again.
WHAT’S COOKING :: What will you eat or drink this weekend?
JC: We’re taking a trip to Atlanta this weekend and super excited to have dim sum at Royal China. One of the main things we miss here is the convenience of hitting up the giant dim sum halls in NYC’s Chinatown. Hopefully this one does the trick!
DROP A PIN :: Where will you be this weekend?
